The Catermelon Family

Emily's Catermelon Family is an honourable mention in our 2013 Foodimal Contest!

Emily, age 9, from Toronto, describes the how the Catermelon Family came to be: Once upon a time there was an egg in the middle of a grassy forest.  One day, the egg started shaking and then it hatched open!  A baby catermelon came out.  Every year, catermelons grow a new melon ball.  Catermelons are very friendly, love nature and eat leaves and grass.  As this catermelon grew he made lots of friends, got married, had kids and built a house.  They then lived happily every after!
