Retinopathy
This eye disease affects the retina of your eye. The retina takes what you see and projects the images to your brain. Over time, diabetes can cause changes in the retina, which causes blurry vision and can lead to blindness in a small number of people.
Risk factor
A risk factor is something that raises your chances of getting a disease. There are some risk factors that you can’t change such as age, gender and family history. For other risk factors, like smoking, eating and exercise, you can make positive changes.
