Fresh from the Farm: Healthy fundraising for Ontario schools


Welcome to Fresh from the Farm!    

Fresh from the Farm is a fundraising program that brings fresh and local Ontario vegetables and fruit to participating elementary and secondary schools.  

A new take on fundraising

Since 2013, 1165 Ontario schools have successfully participated in Fresh from the Farm. In total, they collectively distributed over 2.7 million pounds of fresh, Ontario fruit and vegetables to Ontario families, and raised more than $1.1 million for school initiatives.

Participating schools  

All publicly funded Ontario schools and First Nations schools are eligible to participate.

Enrollment is now closed for this year.

Everybody wins!

Fresh from the Farm is committed to delivering:

  • Healthy food choices!
  • Opportunities for learning about agriculture and food in the classroom!
  • Support for Ontario’s farmers and the local economy!
  • Leadership, by aligning with Ontario’s School Food and Beverage Policy and Ontario’s Local Food Act, 2013!
  • Great profit for schools- 40% of all sales go directly to the school! 


  • School Champion enrols their school between May 2 and October 2 and receives the toolkit.
  • Students begin selling at the beginning of September 4.
  • School order is submitted on-line October 15.
  • Fruit and vegetable deliveries will be scheduled for the period during November 5-December 6 (one delivery per school).
