Kasey in Toronto describes this recipe as a “breakfast art project!” You can make patterns and then stir them together before eating. It’s fun breakfast food!
Kids can help pour the ingredients into the blender and then decorate the bowl with their favourite ingredients.

Use your favourite fruit when they are in season, or frozen fruit.

Make the granola mixture ahead of time. Store it in an airtight container for a quick, crunchy topping.
Ingredients

Chia Seeds |
2 tsp (10 mL)

Almonds, slivered or chopped |
2 tsp (10 mL)

Unsweetened shredded coconut |
2 tsp (10 mL)

Plain 0% fat Greek Yogurt |
1 cup (250 mL)

Milk or milk alternative |
1 cup (250 mL)

Diced watermelon, berries or other fruit |

Directions

Wash hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. Clean all countertops and equipment used for food preparation.

Gently rinse fresh berries (if using) under cool running water.

In a small bowl, combine granola, chia seeds, almonds and coconut; set granola mixture aside.

In a blender combine berries, frozen banana, yogurt and milk. Blend until smooth and creamy. Divide among 3 bowls.

Sprinkle with granola mixture. Top with watermelon, berries or other fruit and serve.
