Baked Cinnamon Pears with Oat Topping

Makes a great dessert or snack during the day.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

Pears

2 1/2 cups (625 mL), about 3 medium pears

Cinnamon

1/8 tsp (0.5 mL)

Topping:

 

Old fashioned rolled oats

1/2 cups (125 mL) 

Cinnamon

1/8 tsp (0.5 mL) 

Maple syrup

1 Tbsp (15 mL)  

Directions

  1. Wash hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. Clean all countertops and equipment used for food preparation.     

  2. Rinse pears under cool running water, then peel and slice.  

  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). 

  4. In a medium sized baking dish add the pears and the cinnamon. 

  5. In a bowl, combine the oats, cinnamon and maple syrup. Scatter oat mixture over the pears. 

  6. Bake for 30 minutes until the top is golden brown. This dish may be served hot or cold.  


This recipe can also be made in 4 individual ramekins.
