Crispy Kale Chips

Liam, from London, likes these crispy kale chips. It’s a fun way to enjoy this tasty green. Change up the flavours and get creative with spices!

Makes: 4 cups (1 L)

Tips

  1. These chips are tasty on their own as a snack but you can also add them to salads or soups for added crunch.

Ingredients

Fresh kale

1 bunch

Lemon juice

2 Tbsp (30 mL)

Extra virgin olive oil

1 Tbsp (15 mL)

Grated Parmesan cheese

1 Tbsp (15 mL)

Salt

1/4 Tsp (1 mL) 

Fresh ground pepper

A pinch

Directions

1. Wash hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. Clean all countertops and equipment used for food preparation.

2. Gently rinse kale under cool running water. Cut the stems out and cut leaves into bite sizes pieces; place in a large bowl.

3. Drizzle with lemon juice and oil. Sprinkle with cheese, salt and pepper. Toss well with your washed hands to coat evenly.

4. Spread kale over parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake in preheated 250°F (121°C) oven for about 25 minutes or until crispy and brown.
