Eric, from Richmond Hill, loves this recipe for it’s interesting textures. The cool, crispy apple contrasts with the smooth and sticky almond butter. The spices will remind you of Fall and the holidays.
Almond butter is another nut option butter that has a rich flavour and source of protein. Look for it where other nut butters are sold. It has a subtle sweetness that tastes great with a tart apple and the zip of cinnamon and nutmeg on top.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Makes: 1 serving
- Try something different and sprinkle on some chopped dried fruit or granola on top of the almond butter mixture when you serve up the apple.
- Change up the type of apple you use for a different flavour.Try using another fruit, e.g. banana, pear or something else

Directions
- Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Clean all countertops and equipment used for food preparation.
- Gently rinse apple under cool running water. Cut in half, then in quarters and remove core.
- Spread each piece with almond butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
