School day snacks: Grades 1 to 3
Pizza is fun for dinner and even more fun as a snack. It doesn’t take long to make and you can add your favourite toppings to make it different every time. Minha, from Markham, thinks kids will like this recipe because it is delicious, easy to make and takes only a few minutes to bake.

Makes: 2 pizzas
- Try using other vegetables for eyes such as small grape tomatoes, carrot or zucchini slices. You can add the eyes after its done cooking and use cucumber slices for a fresh crunch.

Directions
- Wash hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. Clean all countertops and equipment used for food preparation.
- Rinse red bell pepper under cool running water. Scrub carrots with vegetable brush under cool running water. Then slice the bell pepper and grate the carrots; set aside.
- Split English muffin in half and place on a small baking pan. Spread each with sauce.
- Sprinkle each with cheese and place 2 olive halves on each muffin for eyes. Use 1 red pepper slice on each for a mouth.
- Place in 350ºF (180ºC) toaster oven or oven for about 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and English muffin is crispy.
- Place each on a plate and sprinkle top with carrots for hair and serve each with remaining red peppers.
